Deep Freeze

It's -29 outside, the snow is talking in crunchy squeaks and sharp little smokestacks emanate from every house and passing car. Today, the sauna is a must, the rolling outside in the snow: optional.
Cali & I are busy catching up on other peoples blogs (she's a fan) and contemplating what to post... she sends her regrets to anonymous for not owning a bee suit, however she possesses many other charms.
The CBC is telling all the wimpy Vancouverites to stay inside as it might hit 20 below (with the wind chill )...well if that were the case here, we'd all spend the better part of Nov-March watching Lost re-runs in our PJ's and collecting E.I. ...Instead, our intrepid Canadian Men's Alpine Ski team chose to hurl themselves down an icy mountain in -30 degrees, at speeds approaching 130 KPH, in skin tight speed suits, faces taped to prevent frostbite (think of the windchill factor here folks) and it paid off- with Rookie Manny(22) taking the silver in the first World Cup Downhill of the season at Lake Louise, and Kucera ( also 22) winning the Super -G the next day, bumping the indomitable Austrians off the podium entirely the first day!
-Unprecedented! -Great start to the season and looking good for 2010.
Hockey-schmockey, give me ski racing any day...

Yeah! Those skiers were so ski-ey! Thanks for making fun of wimpy Vancouverites for me mom. Hi cat.

P.S. That anonymous person was me. When I originally posted it said my name, then it switched for some reason.

I'm so excited to come see you soon! It's been far too long... plus your kitty and your sauna ware very attractive! And then we can all curl up on your comfy couch and drink tea and watch Lost reruns together and pretend like we're stuck on Hawaii too.

PS- your cat must be really cool (and smart) to like our blogs. She definitely fits into the family.

that one sunny golden image in the middle has convinced me to come home in january at whatever cost. we don't even have snow yet and i certainly don't have a frosty valley out my backdoor, rather the Decarie smelly, noisy freeway.

I invented the interweb. Well, me and Al Gore did.

Hey Mom, since I forgot to mention it in the e-mail I just sent you. I talked to Ian Kidston at school. Last weekend he went backcountrying skiing with Chris Bullock in Smithers. Apparently Chris bought at house up there.

Hi Leah!
Hopefully I'll see you if you come out in Jan, but the possibilities and impossibilities have not been sorted out yet.

Also, remember in Star Trek Voyager when the U.S.S. Equinox tried to get back to back to the Alpha Quadrant at any cost? Not nice things ensued. Ask Roxanne about it.
